DepEd: Teachers, staff need not work on Edsa I anniversary
MANILA, Philippines – Teachers, school heads and staff in schools nationwide need not report to work on Wednesday, Feb. 25, as part of the commemoration of the 29th anniversary of the Edsa People Power Revolution.
The said announcement was issued by Department of Education (DepEd) Undersecretary for Regional Operations Rizalino Rivera on Monday.
“The Department of Education (DepEd) would like to clarify that all public school-based personnel, including school heads, teachers, and staff, need not report for work on Wednesday, February 25, 2015, in commemoration of the 29th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution,” the DepEd advisory read.
However, “personnel at the central, regional, and school division DepEd offices shall follow their regular schedule.”
Malacañang on Saturday announced that Feb. 25 will be a special holidays for schools nationwide, in accordance to Proclamation 831 issued by President Benigno Aquino III.
