Passport release sked out

MANILA, Philippines–The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Saturday announced a temporary passport release schedule beginning Monday.

“As the DFA’s current passport system gradually shifts to an up-to-date system, the DFA will be temporarily implementing the following passport release dates, starting Feb. 23, to ensure that the delivery of passport services to the public remains unhampered during the transition period,” the department said in an advisory.

At the Office of Consular Affairs at Aseana on Macapagal Avenue, Paranaque City, and its satellite offices, the regular processing will take 20 working days, while “express processing” will take 10 working days.

The DFA has satellite offices at SM Megamall, SM Manila, Metro Mall Alabang, Robinsons Galleria and Ali Mall.

Regular passport processing in the regional consular offices will take 30 working days and 20 days for express processing.

The DFA assured the public normal passport releasing schedules would be restored at the end of the transition period.–Niña P. Calleja
