Pasay fire leaves 400 families homeless

MANILA, Philippines – A fire hit a residential area in Pasay City Thursday morning, leaving more than 400 families homeless.

The four-hour fire gutted houses along M. Dela Cruz corner Virginia streets in Barangay (village) 13.

The emergency reached Task Force Bravo at around 12:40 p.m. , and put under control at 1:06 p.m.

According to Pasay City Fire Marshall Douglas Diaz Guiab, the fire started around 11 a.m. The origin of the fire is yet to be determined.

Meanwhile, a report by radio dzMM said that a female resident was hospitalized after being suffocated by the fire’s heavy smoke.

Task Force Bravo orders 10 fire trucks from different fire stations in Metro Manila to respond to the emergency.

Thick black smoke curling up from the fire scene could be seen as far as Taguig City.
