Senate may disclose Purisima testimony
MANILA, Philippines – Senator Grace Poe said the testimony of resigned Philippine National Police Chief Director Alan Purisima in a closed-door meeting Tuesday may be disclosed to the public and may even do good for the President.
Kung saka-sakali nga sa tingin ko, mas makakabuti pa kay Presidente,” she said but refused to give further details.
A closed-door meeting was conducted for the resigned Police chief after he refused to say during last week’s hearing who among them had informed President Benigno Aquino III about the Mamasapano encounter last January 25 that left 44 elite policemen dead.
Instead, Purisima said he had to get the President’s clearance first before answering their question
The Senate will resume on Monday its public hearing on the incident.
