Father of slain SAF trooper: ‘Crush the MILF’

MANILA, Philippines – “Crush the MILF!”

That hawkish call to arms came from a grieving father of a police commando who was among the fatalities in the disastrous Mamasapano raid last month during the special rites organized by the Makati City government for the fallen 44 members of the Philippine National Police-Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) on Wednesday.

In an interview, Boy Agabon, the father of PO2 Chum Agabon, said that defeating the Moro Islamic Liberation Front will be the means of exacting justice for his son.

He alleged that the MILF is coddling Malaysian terrorist Zulkifli Abdhir alias Marwan.

“Dapat pulbusin ang MILF. Matagal na AFP diyan (sa Mindanao), wala nangyari. ‘Yung pinaka-leader (ng mga terorista), tinago nila,” Agabon said.

He said that planning an offensive against the MILF will be an alternative to filing cases against those responsible for the botched operation.

“Magawa pa kami ng affidavit, mag-file pa ng kaso. Mahirapan pa pamilya. Sa akin ‘yung operation (laban sa MILF), enough na,” he said.
(We need to draft an affidavit then file a case. The family will be burdened. For me, an operation against the MILF is enough.)

The MILF is a party to the Bangsamoro Basic Law with the Philippine government.
