Manila traffic rerouted for Chinese New Year celebration

MANILA, Philippines – The Manila Police District (MPD) has released a traffic advisory in anticipation of the celebration of the Chinese New Year in Binondo on Thursday.

The MPD said the stretch of Quintin Paredes from Escolta to Plaza Ruiz would be closed to traffic starting 12:30 p.m.

It said all vehicles coming from Jones Bridge going to Binondo via Quintin Paredes should turn right to Escolta and go straight to Plaza Sta. Cruz to their point of destination

At 5 p.m., the stretch of Retiro from Dimasalang circle to Blumentritt extension would also be closed to traffic.

The advisory said all vehicles coming from Dimasalang Bridge intending to use the stretch of Retiro should turn right to Makiling or go straight to Dimasalang towards North Cemetery to point of destination.

It said all vehicles coming from Aurora Boulevard intending to use the stretch of Retiro should go straight to Maceda then turn left to Makiling or left to Dimasalang towards North Cemetery going to point of destination.
