Cool Valentine weekend due to northeast monsoon
MANILA, Philippines—Valentine weekend may be cooler due to the surge of the northeast monsoon, the state weather bureau said.
A surge of the northeast monsoon in Luzon is forecast on Sunday, Shaira Nonot of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
On Saturday, Valentine’s Day, a weak northeast monsoon is affecting the eastern section of Luzon.
Cagayan Valley and the provinces of Camarines, Aurora and Quezon will experience cloudy skies with light rains, Pagasa said.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains or thunderstorms.
Moderate to occasionally strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to occasionally rough.
