PNP board of inquiry head vows justice for SAF44

MANILA, Philippines — The head of the  Philippine National Police’s Board of Inquiry vowed on Monday  to  give justice to the  44 members of the PNP Special  Action Force who were killed in  the Mamasapano encounter last January  25  by  “seeking out the  truth.”

“We will give justice to our troops by seeking  out the truth,”  Police Director  Benjamin Magalong, head of the BOI, when  he faced the hearing  of the Senate committee on public  order, joint  with  committees on peace,  unification and reconciliation, and  finance on the  Mamasapano incident.

Magalong made this promise  after he presented before  the committees the “initial facts” of their  investigation on the Mamasapano incident.

Magalong’s presentation was marred with technical problems, prompting the committees to suspend the deliberations.

Below is the powerpoint presentation shown by Magalong during the hearing.
