MANILA, Philippines – A Nigerian national and his partner were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Pampanga on Friday for peddling P700,000 worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride (or shabu).
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said Paul F. Omina, 33, and his live-in partner Merlyn A. Ates, 32, were caught by PDEA regional office 3 (PDEA RO3) operatives in an entrapment operation inside a fast food restaurant along Jose Abad Santos Ave. in San Fernando, Pampanga on February 6.
A zip-lock bag filled with white crystalline substance, believed to be shabu, was found in their possession. It weighs around 200 grams and is estimated to be worth P700,000.
Omina and Ates, who are residents of Tanza, Cavite, are currently detained at the PDEA RO3 jail facility in Camp Olivas. They will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
