QC moves biz tax deadline to Feb. 2
The deadline for the payment of business taxes without penalty and interest in Quezon City had been extended to Monday, the local government said. After the Feb. 2 deadline, a 25-percent surcharge and a 2-percent monthly interest would be imposed, the City Hall said in a statement Saturday. The City Hall and all treasury branches will be open until midnight on Monday. The original deadline, Jan. 31, was moved since it falls on a weekend. Earlier, an ordinance granting a 10-day extension of the Jan. 20 first-quarter deadline for the payment of business taxes and fees was approved by Mayor Herbert Bautista. All low-risk establishments, such as sari-sari stores and business establishments with gross sales below P500,000, can pay their taxes at treasury branches in Novaliches, La Loma, Cubao, Talipapa and Galas.
