MANILA, Philippines—Opponents of the plan to integrate the P550 terminal fee into the costs of the international airline tickets at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport have asked the Pasay City Regional Trial Court (RTC) to issue an injunction order to immediately stop the scheme scheduled to take effect on Feb. 1.

OFW Family Club party-list Rep. Roy Señeres on Thursday filed at the Pasay City Regional Trial Court an urgent ex-parte motion to resolve the application for the writ of preliminary injunction to stop the plan of the Manila International Airport Authority to enforce the integration scheme.

In announcing the implementation of the order, Miaa general manager Jose Angel Honrado earlier said no legal impediment was blocking its way when the authority published a copy of the memorandum circular on Dec. 12.

The publication was in compliance with the Nov. 19, 2014 decision of Presiding Judge Tingaraan Guiling of the Pasay RTC Branch 109, who said that the circular was unenforceable due to its lack of publication.
