‘Mayor Arsenio Lacson’ destroyed by typhoon ‘Pedring’

MANILA, Philippines—The statue of former Manila Mayor Arsenio Lacson didn’t escape the wrath of typhoon “Pedring.”

Due to strong wind and ‘tsunami-like’ waves that battered Roxas Boulevard, the statue of the illustrious mayor was toppled from where it was seated.

The discovery came after the skies were cleared Wednesday as ‘Pedring’ left the Philippines. It was found among the broken lampposts, bricks and piles of trash along the stretch of Roxas Boulevard, which was battered badly by strong waves from Manila Bay.
