MANILA, Philippines—Aside from Makati City Mayor Jejomar Erwin “Junjun” Binay, two more resource persons who refused to appear in the Senate blue ribbon subcommittee hearing were arrested and detained on Thursday.
Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III identified the two as Eleno Mendoza and Marjorie de Veyra, incumbent and former administrators, respectively, of Makati City.
“We have three persons under detention… the city administrator is here, si attorney Mendoza and the former city administrator Marjorie de Veyra. Arrested , all arrested,” Pimentel told reporters.
Binay, Mendoza and De Veyra were among the six people ordered arrested and detained by the Senate blue ribbon committee.
Binay, who still refused to attend the Senate hearing on Thursday, was detained at the Office of the Senate Sergeant-at-Arms.
The three others were Eduviges Ebeng Baloloy, engineer Line dela Pena, and Bernadette Portollano.
