MANILA, Philippines — Makati City Mayor Jejomar Erwin “Jun-Jun” Binay is on his way to the Senate after being served a warrant by the Senate sergeant-at-arms Thursday morning.
A convoy of two vehicles from the Senate escorted the car of the mayor out of the Makati City Hall basement at 10:15 a.m.
The Senate blue ribbon committee ordered the arrest of Binay for repeatedly refusing to attend a hearing of its subcommittee investigating alleged anomalies in the city.
