Police deployed in NAIA 1 to keep an eye on PAL protesters
MANILA, Philippines—Police have been deployed to keep an eye on Philippine Airlines Employees Association (Palea) ralliers who have trooped to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 Wednesday morning.
Southern Police District spokesperson Chief Inspector Jenny Tecson said they have sent roughly 70 Civil Disturbance Management (CDM) officers to maintain order at the airport terminal as personnel of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said it has monitored some 50 Palea protesters in the area.
Tecson said a Special Weapons and Tactics team as well as around 50 other police officers were on standby as well.
