MANILA, Philippines – A senior citizen from Las Piñas City looks forward to helping improve the lives of his 12 siblings after winning the P16-million jackpot prize in the Jan. 20 6/49 draw.

According to Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office acting chair and general manager Jose Ferdinand Rojas II, the 68-year-old lone winner took home the 6/49 lotto’s minimum jackpot prize of P16 million after randomly picking the winning combination 46-19-07-18-17-40.

Rojas said that the winner has been playing the lottery in the past two decades and paid P60 for his winning ticket.

When the winner claimed his prize at the agency’s head office in Mandaluyong City on Friday, he told Rojas that he would save part of his winnings for his and his wife’s future needs.

And since the couple wasn’t gifted with a child, the winner, the eldest in a brood of 13, added that he would share his newfound wealth with his siblings to help them overcome poverty.
