76 international, local flights of PAL cancelled, delayed

MANILA, Philippines — Seventy-six international and local flights of the Philippine Airlines have been either cancelled or delayed as of 11 a.m. on Wednesday, an advisory from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport authorities said.

Connie Bungag of the NAIA media affairs office said the cancellation or delays of the flights were still the effects of the sudden strike staged by PAL ground crew workers on Tuesday.

Twenty international flights bound for Bangkok, Singapore, Jakarta, Shanghai and New Delhi were cancelled, while 10 others bound for Sydney, Melbourne, Los Angeles and San Francisco were delayed.

No information has been provided yet on the rescheduling of the cancelled flights.

Forty-six flights to and from the cities of Tagbilaran, Laoag, Cebu, Tacloban, Zamboanga, Bacolod, Puerto Princesa, Roxas, Davao and Legazpi were also cancelled, still due to the operational problems.
