Tribu Panayanon wins Iloilo Dinagyang fest championship for 3rd year in a row

ILOILO CITY—Defending champion Tribu Panayanon became a three-peat winner Sunday in the 2015 Ati tribe competition of Iloilo’s Dinagyang Festival.

The tribe, composed of students of the Iloilo City National High School, bested nine other tribes for the coveted trophy with a P175,000 cash prize, according to an announcement of Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog Sunday evening.

Tribu Paghidaet of La Paz National High School bagged the 1st runner-up trophy with a P150,000 cash prize.

Awarded as 2nd runner-up was Tribu Ilonganon of Jalandoni Memorial National High School, which received a cash prize of P125,000. The 3rd runner-up trophy and P100,000 cash prize went to Tribu Salognon of Jaro National high School followed by 4th runner-up winner Tribu Ilawodnon of Fort San Pedro National High School, which also won P75,000 in cash.

In the Kasadyahan regional cultural competition, Tribu Tatusan of Caluya town in Antique bagged the championship among the 10 competing groups.

The 1st runner-up award went to Tribu Pantat of Zarraga town, Iloilo, followed by Tribu Kaing of Buga National High School in Leon town, Iloilo (2nd runner-up), Pinta Flores of San Carlos City in Negros Occidental (3rd runner-up) and Salakayan Festival of Miag-ao, town in Iloilo (4th runner-up).
