Isabela governor, party-list congressmen face graft, malverse raps
MANILA, Philippines–The Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) on Friday filed criminal complaints before the Office of the Ombudsman against Isabela Governor Faustino Dy III and two lawmakers for the alleged misuse of Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF).
Aside from Dy, included in the complaints for malversation of public fund, graft, and falsification of public documents were party-list Representatives Catalina Leonen-Pizarro of ABS party-list and Michael Angelo Rivera of I-CARE.
VACC added that the officials should also be held administratively liable for grave misconduct and grave abuse of authority.
In the complaint, the officials allegedly used P25-million for relief goods that turned out to be a “ghost” purchase.
VACC also asked Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales to preventively suspend the officials.
