Over 7,000 remain stranded in ports—Coast Guard
MANILA, Philippines – More than 7,000 people were stranded in various ports Wednesday morning due to Typhoon “Pedring” (international codename: Nesat), said a spokesman from the Philippine Coast Guard.
Citing the latest report of the PCG, its spokesman Lieutenant Commander Algier Ricafrente said that a total of 7,566 persons, 34 vessels and 18 motorized bancas remain stranded as of Wednesday morning.
He said that the bulk of stranded persons were stuck in ports in Manila (4352), Calapan (1010), Matnog (318), Tabaco (586), Pio Duran (291), and Batangas (280).
