Businesswoman wounded in Pasig attack

MANILA, Philippines—A 66-year-old businesswoman was shot and wounded by motorcycle-riding assailants on her way back to her condominium unit in Pasig City Friday afternoon.

Loraine Ordinario was in her maroon Toyota FX when she was shot just as the vehicle was about to enter the compound of Capri Oasis Condominium in Dr. Sixto Antonio Avenue, Barangay Maybunga, around 3 p.m.

Ordinario, who was seated next to her driver Roberto Somera, was hit in her arm and abdomen. SPO2 Randy Aurelia of the Pasig police said the victim was already in stable condition at a hospital Saturday.

The gunmen fled toward Barangay Rosario on a dark blue motorbike. The motive for the attack remained under investigation.

In Barangay Palatiw, bike-riding gunmen fired two shots at Corazon Coronel, 61, while she was talking to a garbage collector in front of Palatiw Elementary School. Coronel was not hit but sustained bruises on her hands when she ducked for cover. Jovic Yee
