‘Amang’ maintains strength, moves closer to Samar
MANILA, Philippines—Tropical Storm “Amang” has maintained its strength as it gets closer to the Philippine landmass, the weather bureau said.
In its 5 p.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Amang was at 475 kilometers east of Burgos, Eastern Samar.
Amang has maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour and gusts of 90 kph.
Public storm warning signal no. 1 is raised over Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Burias Island, Sorsogon, Masbate including Ticao Island, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Samar, Biliran and Leyte.
Pagasa warned fisherfolk and those with small sea vessels to not venture out into the seaboards of Luzon and Visayas, and the eastern seaboard of Mindanao.
