THE University of San Carlos (USC) will host an entrepreneurship workshop for scientists and engineers at the Rigney Hall, USC-Talamban campus from May 30 to June 3.
The workshop aims to encourage universities to introduce entrepreneurship and business skills in the science curriculum, to encourage a culture of entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship among scientists and engineers in the Philippines, and to introduce topics such as innovation, generation and protection of intellectual property, technology transfer, institutional roles for commercialization and commercialization of inventions.
The international perspective and profitable insights on entrepreneurship and commercialization will be provided during the workshop.
The workshop is partly funded by the American Physical Society (USA), the Institute of Physics (UK) and International Center for Theoretical Physics (Trieste, Italy).
It is co-sponsored by the Samahang Pisika ng Visayas at Mindanano; the Samahang Pisika ng Pilipinas; the Electronics, Computer and Communications Engineering Department of Ateneo de Manila University; Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development-Department of Science and Technology; and the Department of Trade and Industry.
Registration fee is P4,500, inclusive of conference kit, snacks and lunch.
