MANILA, Philippines—The state weather bureau on Thursday said it is tracking a low pressure area spotted east of Mindanao.

Aldczar Aurelio, weather forecaster from the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, said that the LPA was last observed about 3,000 kilometers east of Mindanao.

He, however, said that the LPA was still too far to affect the country.

Aurelio also noted the possibility that the LPA could dissipate.

For Thursday, Caraga, Davao and Northern Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies with isolated light rains.

The northeast monsoon continues to prevail in Luzon.
