SC declares half-day work for Feast of Black Nazarene
MANILA, Philippines–Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno has allowed the early dismissal of court employees in Manila on Friday, the Feast of the Black Nazarene.
“In order to ensure the security and well-being of parties, litigants, counsels and court staff and in anticipation of a heavy turn-out of human and vehicular traffic leading to and out of designated areas of the City of Manila during the procession of devotees to the image of the Black Nazarene the Chief Justice has authorized the early dismissal of employees of the various courts based in the City of Manila,” the high court advisory stated.
Aside from the first and second level courts, the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court will be allowed to leave by 12:00 p.m.
All other courts outside Manila shall continue regular operations, the advisory stated.
