MANILA, Philippines—Sofitel Philippine Plaza said it has evacuated all its guests after floodwaters unleashed by a powerful typhoon inundated the high-end hotel on shores of Manila Bay.
Sofitel Regional Director for Marketing and Communications Sirinate Meenakul told The Associated Press the hotel suffered minor damage Tuesday but no guests or staff were injured.
She said the pool area was flooded and the water seeped into the luxury Spiral restaurant and La Spa wellness center.
She said all guests were relocated to other hotels. She did not give numbers.
Typhoon Pedring (international codename: Nesat) has caused the worst flooding in decades for downtown areas along Manila Bay.
