Horticulture fair set at Quezon Memorial

MANILA, Philippines—In line with the celebration of Quezon City’s 75th founding anniversary, the Philippine Horticultural Society Inc. presents Horticultura Extravaganza from Jan. 23 to Feb. 3, 2015, at Quezon Memorial Circle, Quezon City.

Overall chair and club president Dorie Bernabe said the theme “Yaman sa Paghahalaman” aims to upgrade the club’s project to an international level and make horticulture not just a hobby, but an industry that generates income and employment.

The club, with the help of the city government, now has a permanent office with a laboratory for hybridization, tissue culture and mass production especially for new hybrids that are in demand among landscapers and plant lovers in the country and abroad.

Activities include a landscape and plant competition to be handled by Yoyong La O, an international trade show to be managed by Neil Boyet Ganigan, seminar and lecture-demonstrations by Wendy Regalado, conference and tour by Dr. Romeo Gutierrez and Leny Fabul, commercial exhibits by Beth Mariano and Marilouis Estrella, and an animal show by Tiffany and Edward Cham.
