2,000 houses engulfed in massive QC fire

MANILA, Philippines–A horrendous start to the New Year hit residents of Apolonio Samson, Quezon City as a massive fire ignited numerous homes in the area.

Radio reports say that around 2,000 houses are engulfed in flames with the fire reaching General Alarm.

Authorities said that the fire started at 6:45 am and the General Alarm was raised at 8:10 am.

A couple of people, one civilian and a fire aide, are injured in the blaze.

The fire aide, Paul Manuel, lost three fingers authorities said. He was taken to Chinese General Hospital.

Authorities are still confirming the cause of the flames.
