MANILA, Philippines–After battering parts of Visayas and Mindanao leaving 31 people dead, Tropical Storm “Seniang” (international name: Jangmi) maintained its strength as it traversed Sulu Sea on Tuesday evening.
In its 11 p.m. bulletin, Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration said Seniang was moving west northwest at a slower speed of 15 kilometers per hour although it maintained its strength packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gusts of up to 80 kph.
As of 10 p.m., the eye of Seniang was spotted 190 km southwest of Iloilo City or 105 km south of Cuyo, Palawan.
Public Storm Warning Signal No. 2 remained hoisted over Cuyo Island and Palawan but was lifted in affected areas in the Visayas.
Signal No. 1 was hoisted over Calamian Group of Islands, Guimaras, Antique and southern Iloilo.
Residents in areas where storm signals are raised are warned against possible flash floods and landslide.
Pagasa said ocean waves may reach up to 5 meters.
