Zamboanga cops nab suspect in videoke bar explosion

MANILA, Philippines—Elements of the Zamboanga police force have arrested a man on suspicion he is involved in an explosion at a videoke bar in Zamboanga City on Monday.

Police Inspector Dahlan Tidal Samuddin, Officer-in-Charge, on Tuesday said members of the Bomb Squad and Zamboanga City Police Office arrested Marcel Jumadil and was brought to the Community Investigative Support, Central Police Station 11 for further investigation.

At around 8:45 p.m. Monday, an explosion caused by an improvised explosive device occurred at Room 7 of Deluxe Massage and Videoke Bar along Tomas Claudio St., Zamboanga City.

In a previous report, Superintendent Ariel Huesca, Zamboanga City Police Office Spokesman, said the same establishment was hit by an IED explosion in November and which injured K9 handler PO2 Franklin Enid.

Samuddin said there are no reported casualties in the Monday night explosion and that investigation is still ongoing.
