‘Seniang’ batters Negros Oriental, approaches Panay Gulf

MANILA, Philippines—Tropical Storm “Seniang” continued to batter the Visayas Tuesday as it poured its wrath over Negros Oriental late morning, the weather bureau said.

In its 11 am bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said “Seniang” maintained its maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour and gusts of 80 kph as it tracked a westward path at a pace of 11 kph.

Pagasa said “Seniang” would pass over the Panay Gulf after rampaging through Negros Oriental.

Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, Guimaras, southern Cebu, Southern Antique and southern Iloilo are under public storm warning signal no. 2.

Areas under public storm warning signal no. 2 would experience heavy to intense rains that may cause landslides or flashfloods.

Palawan, the Calamian Group of Islands, Cuyo Island, Aklan, Capiz, the rest of Antique, the rest of Iloilo, the rest of Cebu, Bohol and Siquijor are under public signal no. 1.

These areas would experience moderate to heavy rains with occasional gusty winds.
