Legazpi police seeks NBI help after kidnap victim gave ‘limited ‘ info

MANILA, Philippines–The Legazpi City police has asked the National Bureau of Investigation for assistance in the extraction of contents of the mobile phone of an 18-year old kidnapping victim in Legazpi City.

Albay police has encountered a stumbling block after the victim, Angelie Danao failed to identify her abductors thus ruling out the conduct of a computerized facial composite sketch.

Based on the Sunday progress report by the Albay Police, Danao was abducted last Dec. 23 around 4 a.m. by three unidentified man along Barangay Paraiso, Milagros, Masbate.

The victim was released only after her family paid P20,000 ransom money which was sent through Cebuana Lhuillier.

“The victim provided limited information and there were inconsistencies on her testimony as to the details of the incident and she could not describe the faces of the suspects who were wearing bonnets during the incident,” Police Officer 1 Girlie Nasol, the officer in charge of the case said.

The police is also collating closed circuit television (CCTV) footages to identify the vehicle used by the suspects.
