MANILA, Philippines—The continued onslaught of Typhoon Pedring on Tuesday has raised questions on whether President Aquino will be able return to the country from his working visit to Japan on Wednesday.
Presidential Spokespman Edwin Lacierda said that while the strike mounted by Philippine Airlines’ ground crew union Tuesday morning won’t affect the President’s arrival, Pedring’s strong winds and rains might.
“We have consideration of the storm. We will have to ask [Science Undersecretary Graciano] Yumul if it will affect the return of the President,” Lacierda said in a news briefing in Malacañang.
