MANILA, Philippines – Residents were being evacuated Tuesday morning from at least three neighborhoods in Tondo, Manila – Baseco, Isla Puting Bato and Parola compound – due to flooding, officials said.

They are being taken to the Del Pan sports complex, though other courts in the city were also now being prepared.

Evacuations are also ongoing among people living along city creeks, said Major Almario Alonzo Jr. of the Philippine Army’s 1304th community defense center assigned to Manila.
