MANILA, Philippines – A security officer of the state-run Philippine General Hospital (PGH) was shot dead in Manila on Christmas Day, police said.
Felipe de los Reyes Jr., 40, a supervisor of UP-PGH police, was shot from behind and killed by a still unidentified man near the Pedro Gil Light Rail Transit station Thursday at around 6:30 a.m.
Police said witnesses in the area heard two gunshots, then saw a man around 5’4″ tall clad in a white long-sleeve shirt and baseball cap running swiftly on Pedro Gil Street. Delos Reyes was found dead near the LRT-Pedro Gil station in Manila. He was shot in the head and in the back.
His colleagues said Delos Reyes was on his way home to Bulacan Thursday morning for a family reunion.
