MANILA, Philippines–The Angat Dam in Bulacan, which supplies most of Metro Manila’s water needs, reached its maximum level on Wednesday, December 24.

As of 8 a.m., Angat Dam’s water level was at 213.04 meters, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

Angat’s spilling level is at 212 meters.

The elevation of Angat Dam is expected to rise due to the rains that could be generated by the tail-end of a cold front in Southern Luzon and the northeast monsoon in Northern and Central Luzon, Pagasa said.

The two weather systems are expected to bring light to moderate rains, particularly the eastern section of the country, including the Angat Watershed.
