Launched in December 1974, the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) was created by virtue of the Metro Manila Commission Executive Order No. 86-09, pursuant to Presidential Proclamation Nos. 1459, 1485, 1533, 1533-A and 1647. Now on its 40th year, the MMFF is held during the Christmas season. An executive committee, headed by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority chair and composed of key members of the film industry, supervises this annual event. Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
