MANILA, Philippines–President Benigno Aquino III is expected to sign the P2.606-trillion budget for 2015 on Tuesday, Malacañang said on Monday.
“Tomorrow, the President will sign the General Appropriations Act for 2015, which stands as a testament to the lengthy reviews and planning undertaken by agencies, in order to improve the way they serve the public,” presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said in a statement.
Lacierda emphasized that it would be the fifth time that the budget was passed on time, which is “a symbol of the Aquino administration’s commitment to reform.”
“The P2.606-trillion budget for next year remains guided by the philosophies that have characterized our administration, among them inclusive growth, transparency and accountability, and our effort to build back better,” Lacierda said.
