MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 5.5 tectonic quake rocked parts of Eastern Visayas with aftershocks expected, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said Sunday morning.

Intensity I was felt at Tacloban City and Catbalogan City.
The Phivolcs Earthquake Intensity Scale describes an Intensity I quake as “scarcely perceptible,” meaning that it is “delicately balanced objects are disturbed slightly and still water in containers oscillates slowly.”
