UP-PGH gets P150M for better services

MANILA, Philippines—The Department of Health (DOH) and University of the Philippines (UP) have signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to boost medical services at the UP-Philippine General Hospital.

The hospital will receive P150 million for the procurement of modern medical equipment, skills enhancement training for health workers and capacity-building in healthcare, research, training and policy development.

To fulfill the government’s universal healthcare program, partnership with “reliable and productive” institutions like UP is necessary, acting Health Secretary Janette Garin said, adding, “[The] DOH cannot do it alone,” she added.

UP President Alfredo Pascual thanked the DOH for the financial support and the honor of working with the department in uplifting people’s health.
