There’s a mega rich Rolex hoarding prisoner at NBP
MANILA, Philippines – Millions of cash and luxury watches were also discovered inside the New Bilibid Prison following a surprise inspection conducted by authorities.
During the early morning inspection, authorities found three vaults inside the cell of convicted bank robber Herbert “Ampang” Colangco. The search also yielded eight watches -five Rolex, one Philip Stein and one Cartier.
Colangco has been serving time at the Maximum Security Compound since 2009. While in prison, he launched a singing career and released an album “Herbert C: Kinabukasan” early this year.
He came under fire last May after he was brought to the Asian Hospital and Medical Center due to urinary tract infection.
Authorities also discovered one Prada wallet with P5,000, Hermes with P10,000, and Louis Vuitton with P62,000. Cash in foreign currencies were also found: $600 and (HK)$23,000.
Meanwhile, the NBI formed a team to conduct further investigation. Members of the team came from its Anti-Organized and Transnational Crime Division, Anti-Illegal Drugs Division, Intelligence Division and NBI-National Capital Region Office.
