MANILA, Philippines – A 5.2 earthquake shook Cagayan early Thursday but no aftershocks were expected, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The tremor that struck at 4.27 a.m. had its epicenter at 45 kilometers southwest of Calayan Island, Phivolcs said.
The agency said the earthquake was tectonic in nature. It had a depth of 19 kilometers.
There was also no reported immediate damage from the quake.
