MANILA, Philippines – Tropical Storm Ruby has further weakened, and is now moving across Southern Batangas, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said late Monday evening.
In its 11 p.m. bulletin, Pagasa said the location of Ruby’s center was estimated based on all available data at 45 km South of Ambulong, Tanauan City, Batangas (13.7°N, 121.1°E) around 10 p.m.
It has maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph and was moving at 13 kph, Pagasa added.
Signal No. 1 was up in Metro Manila, Bulacan, Rizal, Bataan, Cavite, Laguna, Southern Quezon and the rest of Mindoro provinces.
Signal No. 2 was hoisted in Batangas, Northern Oriental Mindoro and Northern Occidental Mindoro, including Lubang Island.
Pagasa said Ruby is expected to be out of landmass by early Tuesday morning, but the northeast monsoon will cause rough to very rough sea conditions over the seaboards of Luzon and Visayas.
Fisherfolk and those using small sea craft were advised not to venture out over the said seaboards.
Ruby is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Wednesday evening.
