MANILA, Philippines — The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said on Monday that Typhoon “Ruby” (international name Hagupit) has affected over 1 million people.

As of 6 a.m., there were a total of 230,569 families or 1,0666,141 people in shelters.

The NDRRMC has only confirmed two deaths — both were killed from hypothermia in Iloilo.

A total of 2,663 passengers, 94 vessels and 644 rolling cargoes and 3 motorbancas are still stranded due to bad weather.

Almost 200 international and domestic flights were cancelled on Monday due to bad weather.

Ruby is expected to make its third landfall in Northern Mindoro on Monday night, the closest it would be to Metro Manila.
