MANILA, Philippines—A female security guard from Pasay City became the country’s newest millionaire on Monday as she claimed the close-to-P20-million jackpot prize in the Nov. 27 6/42 lotto draw.
The 44-year-old mother of three is the lone winner who picked the winning combination 14-19-23-29-30-34, which made her richer by P19,531,284 overnight.
Jose Ferdinand Rojas, acting chair and general manager of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), said the woman had been betting on random numbers for the past 18 years and that she only paid P20 for her lucky ticket.
The winner, who claimed her winnings at the PCSO head office in Mandaluyong City, planned to use the money to buy a house and lot for her family, save some for the children’s education and donate a portion to the Church, Rojas said. Jovic Yee
