MANILA, Philippines—Portions of Quezon Avenue and Commonwealth Avenue will be closed to traffic today, from noon to midnight, to give way to the 1st Quezon City International Marathon night run.
An event held in line with the city’s 75th anniversary celebration, the marathon kicks off at 8:30 p.m. at Quezon Memorial Circle, and will take up lanes on the two major thoroughfares.
To be closed on Quezon Avenue are the westbound and eastbound inner lanes from Sto. Domingo Church to Elliptical Road.
On Commonwealth, to be closed are the westbound and eastbound inner lanes from Elliptical Road to Puregold Supermarket after the Tandang Sora flyover. In an advisory, City Hall said at least three to four inner lanes of Commonwealth will be used as running lanes; three on Quezon Avenue, and four on Elliptical Road.
The outer lanes will still remain open to vehicles. Motorists coming from East Avenue going to Mindanao are advised to turn left to Agham and left at North Avenue. Motorists coming from Timog and Tomas Morato going to Manila may take E. Rodriguez. Jaymee T. Gamil
