MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Storm “Pedring” (international name: Nesat) is expected to make landfall in the provinces of Quezon and Aurora Tuesday morning, a report from 990AM said Monday.

The report quoted Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration weather forecaster Robert Sawi as saying, however, that Pedring was already being felt in the Bicol region.
Pagasa said that Pedring, last monitored to be 260 kilometers east northeast of Virac, Catanduances, has slowed down and gained strength.
It now packs center winds of 110 kilometers per hour and gustiness of 140 kph as it moves northward across Luzon at 17 kph.
Storm Signal No. 2 was raised in Catanduanes, Isabela, Aurora, Polilio Island, Camarines Norte and Camarines Sur.
Meanwhile, Signal No. 1 is up over the provinces of Albay (including Burias island), Sorsogon, Quezon, Quirino, Ifugao, Nueva Vizacaya, Mt. Province, Kalinga and Cagayan.
“We are expecting [Pedring] to intensify. It might become a typhoon,” said weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio.
Aurelio said data gathered have shown that “previous storms during this month usually hit northern Luzon” but said that they were not disclosing the possibility that Pedring could hit Metro Manila.
Pedring has a radius of 300 kilometers, which means the storm would definitely affect Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon.
