DND to spend P4.6B for fuel

MANILA, Philippines—The Philippine government would be spending about P4.6 billion for the fuel requirements of the defense department in 2015.

A total of P4,650,685,772.25 from the General Appropriations Act has been allotted as the approved budget for the procurement of petroleum, oil and lubricants, a bid bulletin signed by Department of National Defense Assistant Secretary Efren Fernandez of Bids and Awards Committee said.

The project has been divided into three lots.

Lot 1 is for wide petroleum requirements nationwide worth P3,278,904,123.58; Lot 2 is for oil and lubricant requirements nationwide worth P367,244,381.32; and Lot 3 is for the e-POL card requirements worth P1,004,537,267.35.

Prospective bidders are invited by the DND.

A pre-bid conference for the interested parties will be held on Nov. 28 at 10a.m. at the DND Conference Room, Right Wing Basement at Camp Aguinaldo. The bids must be delivered by Dec. 11 at 10a.m.

Bidding documents may be purchased at an amount of P75,000.

The bidding is open to Filipino citizens/sole proprietorships and organizations with at least 60 percent interest of outstanding capital stock belonging to citizens of the Philippines.

It is also open to citizens or organizations of a country whose laws and regulations grant similar rights or privileges to Filipino citizens.
