Low-pressure area approaching Visayas
MANILA, Philippines — A low-pressure area (LPA) outside the Philippine area of responsibility was spotted east of Mindanao on Monday afternoon and is expected to traverse the Visayas region on Thursday or Friday.
State-run Panahon TV said the LPA is located 1,300 kilometers east of Mindanao.
The easterlies continue to affect the eastern section of the country, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
The whole country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rains or thunderstorms mostly in the eastern section, the weather bureau said.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the east to northeast will prevail over northern Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough, Pagasa said.
