MANILA, Philippines — A two-hour delay for technical reasons prompted Vice President Jejomar Binay to cancel his flight on Philippine Air Lines to Davao City on Sunday, his spokesperson, Joey Salgado said.

The Vice President was scheduled to visit the public markets of Bangkerohan, Agdao and Buhangin. He was supposed to join a “boodle fight,” or a military style of eating at Bangkerohan and Buhangin, and hold a news conference at the Waterfront Insular Hotel.

Salgado said there was still no schedule for Binay’s Davao City trip.

Binay has been going around the country in line with his duties as a member of President Aquino’s Cabinet. But he has also been perceived to be doing some early campaigning in preparation for his presidential bid in 2016.
